  • The divorce process starts with filing the complaint for divorce, which is followed by answering the complaint, and going through the discovery process.
  • At some point, you’re going to be involved in a mediation process called an early settlement panel hearing, after which, you have a trial.
  • No matter what anybody says, you want to avoid an acrimonious trial if you can. It is both expensive and terribly trying emotionally. If you have to get involved in it, your attorney must have the experience and skill set to handle a trial.
  • Do your best to build and follow a battle plan so you can get up, get in, and get out of the whole process.
